Semi non-combustible 준불연

SOFFKIN Semi non-combustible

Unlike conventional textiles, SOFFKIN semi non-combustible fabrics are engineered with a specialized semi non-combustible woven base.

This prevents flames from easily spreading and ensures enhanced safety by minimizing the emission of hazardous substances during combustion.

Furthermore, it delivers the signature warm aesthetic unique to synthetic leather—a premium ambiance that traditional semi non-combustible materials, such as paint or stone, could never replicate.

Why You Must Choose Semi Non-Combustible Materials

"Indoor decorations in multi-use business establishments must utilize materials that meet or exceed semi non-combustible standards. Failure to comply may result in administrative actions, including suspension of business operations or revocation of business licenses and permits, pursuant to Article 10 of the Special Act on Safety Management of Multi-Use Business Establishments."

Where Should Semi-Noncombustible
Materials Be Used?

Special Act on Safety Management of Multi-Use Business Establishments
(Abbreviation: Multi-Use Business Establishments Act)

[Enforced on Jan. 4, 2024] [Act No. 19157, Jan. 3, 2023, Partial Amendment]

Article 10 (Indoor Decorations of Multi-Use Business Establishments)

① Indoor decorations installed or replaced in a multi-use business establishment (excluding those with a width of 10 centimeters or less, such as crown moldings) must be installed using non-combustible or semi non-combustible materials.

③ If the indoor decorations of a multi-use business establishment fail to meet the standards prescribed in paragraphs (1) and (2), the head of a fire headquarters or the chief of a fire station may order the multi-use business owner to take necessary measures, such as replacing or removing the relevant part of the indoor decorations, or may request the competent licensing authority to impose an administrative disposition for the suspension of business operations or the revocation of business licenses and permits in accordance with relevant statutes.

Advanced Fire Safety

With exceptional performance and stable quality, SOFFKIN semi non-combustible fabrics

lead the domestic semi non-combustible interior building materials market.

In addition to the standard 45-degree flammability test, SOFFKIN semi non-combustible fabrics undergo regular quality control testing through accredited institutions for heat release rate and gas toxicity, consistently securing results that comply with regulatory standards.

Passed Certified Semi Non-Combustible Performance Tests

Heat Release Rate Test (KS F ISO 5660-1)

The heat release rate test (cone calorimeter method) is a critical element in fire safety, as it evaluates parameters that directly influence the growth and propagation of a fire in the event of an outbreak.

Test Criteria

– Total Heat Release (THR) ≤ 8MJ/㎡

– Time during which the Peak Heat Release Rate (PHRR) exceeds 200kw/㎡ must be within 10 seconds.

– No cracks, holes, or melting that are detrimentally hazardous to fire safety penetrating through the test specimen.

– Shrinkage rate ≤17%

Apply 50kw/㎡ (approx. 500℃) of radiant heat to the fabric surface for 10 minutes.

Gas Toxicity Test (KS F 2271)

Toxic gases generated during the combustion of building finishing materials are one of the leading causes of casualties in large-scale fires.

In South Korea, a gas toxicity test is mandated for building finishing materials, which evaluates safety by measuring the average incapacitation time (average time to stop movement) of laboratory mice.

Test Criteria

– Average incapacitation time (time until cessation of movement) of laboratory mice must be 9 minutes or longer.

Certificate

Semi Non-Combustible Certification Label

The KFI semi non-combustible (standard) certification label is heat-transferred onto the surface of the semi non-combustible fabric at 3m intervals.
